Bill and Betty Davis Endowment for Basic and Applied Research in Immunology of Food and Companion Animals

Bill and his late wife, Betty, established the Bill and Betty Davis Endowment for Basic and Applied Research in Immunology of Food and Companion Animals to support programs to further the understanding of the mechanisms regulating the development of protective immunity against pathogens and parasites, and the development of new and improved vaccines

Dr. William (Bill) C. Davis was a professor in Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology for more than 50 years.  He was a pioneer in veterinary immunology and served as the director of the Washington State University Monoclonal Antibody Center. His research focused on the development and use of monoclonal antibodies to study the immune response to pathogens and parasites impacting the health of livestock, companion animals, and humans.

Our faculty in the Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology department are recognized worldwide as leaders in the research of infectious diseases that threaten animal health on a local and global scale, as well as virology, parasitology, bacteriology, vaccine production, and immunology. We provide advanced graduate and post-doctoral training in infectious diseases and immunology and core instruction in the professional veterinary medical program and post-DVM education.
