Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fund for the Advancement of Veterinary Medicine

Join us in our commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.

Our shared dedication to respecting difference, celebrating diversity, and valuing inclusion is only possible through the commitment of faculty, staff, students, and friends of the college like you.

Maurice Cottman

Our mission is to create and sustain equitable opportunities through holistic practices and policies for all members of our college, students, staff, faculty, and alums.

In 2022, the college hired Maurice Cottman as its first director for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The WSU College of Veterinary Medicine is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community by creating a work and learning environment that supports everyone through respectful communication, honoring different beliefs, and practicing kindness. We vow to honor inclusion through the acceptance of each member's background, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, physical difference, developmental difference and more.

We believe all people deserve dignity and equity. We respect difference, celebrate diversity and value inclusion. And we strive to uphold these values in everything we do.

-Dr. Dori Borjesson, first female dean of the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine

The WSU Pullman campus is located on the homelands of the Nimíipuu Tribe (Nez Perce) and the Palus people. We acknowledge their presence here since time immemorial and recognize their continuing connection to the land, water, and their ancestors.
