Simasko Yearly Neuroscience Award Program for Sophomores

Join us to support neuroscience students who are in or entering their sophomore year.

Academic performance and status as a first-generation or underrepresented student will be considered in selecting awardees.

Recipients will be chosen from the neuroscience-identifying applications to the annual general scholarship pool.

This award was established and funded by faculty in Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience to recognize the leadership of Steve Simasko.

Steven M. Simasko, Professor, earned a B.A. degree in chemistry from Colorado College in 1977, and a Ph.D. degree in pharmacology at the University of Washington in 1983. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacology at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY prior to taking a faculty position in the Department of Physiology in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York in Buffalo, NY. In 1994 he returned to the west to take a faculty position in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, and he retired in 2021.
