Dr. Michael Bellinghausen DVM Scholarship

Join us to support veterinary students from underrepresented communities.

Dr. Michael Bellinghausen recognizes that student debt load is becoming more and more of a challenge in the community. To address this, he created a scholarship both at WSU and Oregon State University with the hopes to create opportunities for students who’ve historically been underrepresented in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Bellinghausen is a retired veterinary practice owner who understands the value of giving back to his community. He owned Kenmore Veterinary Hospital for almost 30 years before selling it to Lakefield Veterinary Group. He has served as a volunteer in many capacities with WSVMA, WSU and WICHE. At WSU, he served on the interview committees and the Dean’s Search committee. In his retirement, he has been volunteering with the One Health Clinic – a program in Seattle that students participate in as part of the Seattle Humane rotation.
