Cassie Scott Professorship in Veterinary Oncology
Dave and Eddylee Scott were referred to the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 2008 after their 7-year-old Golden Retriever, Cassie, was diagnosed with a tumor. Cassie underwent surgery and radiation, but when the cancer returned 10 months later, she began a then-new combination of new anti-cancer drugs and bone supplements that kept her symptom-free and enjoying life. Grateful for the care Cassie received, the Scotts organized a 2010 fundraiser that generated nearly $7,000 in her honor. After Cassie passed away following her nearly two-year battle, they hosted a second event in 2011, raising another $14,000. The Scotts have remained committed supporters of the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital ever since.
