John C. , Vera & Avron Ross Medical Microbiology

John Ross enrolled at Washington State College being awarded a B.S. in Microbiology in 1948 and a M.S. in Microbiology in 1953. He was hired as a research microbiology by the Western Fish Disease Laboratory, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of the Interior, located in Seattle, WA. The lab identified, described and devised treatments for bacterial, viral and parasitological diseases of salmonid fishes, for both hatchery reared and wild stock.

Awarded to Graduate Students pursuing advanced degrees in Microbiology, with a preference to those in the field of Medical Microbiology.
